This collection contains interviews with twenty-five enrollees in four CCC camps in the Mammoth Cave area, employees of the park, and area residents discuss CCC jobs, including road construction, stonemasonry, fire fighting, fire tower duty, truck driving, telephone system installation, and erosion control and other conservation work; the National Park Service; the Great Depression; the contribution of the CCC to the military in World War II; comparisons between the CCC and the military; race relations in the camps; the CCC salary system; relations between the CCC and residents; and social life.
